Lyle Minott is driving away in a new Toyota Hilux Double Cab courtesy of Windhoek Beer. This resulted from a nationwide competition to win the ultimate prize of the ‘toughest bakkie’ on the road. Lyle was handed his set of keys to a silver 2016 Toyota Hilux Double cab, valued at R 480 614, by Windhoek Brand Manager Lebo Xhola, and Assistant Brand Manager, Katlego Makete at Tops at Spar Northwold.
Lyle, who is originally from Port Elizabeth but now resides in Johannesburg, describes that on that particular Saturday afternoon nothing seemed to be going right, so he decided to reward himself with a 12-pack of Windhoek Beer on his way home. He recalls telling his wife, “It would be so funny if we win after all that has happened today.”
“I am extremely thankful to the Windhoek Beer team as well as Tops at Spar and can’t wait to take my family on the road in our new Hilux and create some memories,” exclaimed Lyle.
Maggie Wang, Senior Brand Manager adds, “this is the second time we have run this competition, which has evoked a great deal of excitement from our fans. It is important to thank our fans for their continuous support of the brand. “
In order to be eligible for the grand prize, all consumers had to do was purchase two 6-packs or a 12-pack of Windhoek Lager or Light, either in bottle or can format, from any Tops at Spar stores countrywide. Consumers then simply had to SMS the under-liner code to 32388, to receive automatic entry into the draw. The competition, which ran from 29 April to 30 June 2016, concluded with a random draw monitored by independent auditors, Deloitte South Africa.
